Trade 20180107: IJM mistake, Hartalega falling knife, Sapura rights issue

IJM Corporation

Suddenly IJM climbed today.

Original average acquisition price was at RM1.667. Sold some of IJM at RM1.67 due to mistake. Matched instantly. Meant to sell at RM1.69! Almost no gain realized.

Tried to sell at RM1.75 and RM1.80. Wasn't matched.

IJM closed 10 sen higher to RM1.69.

Hartalega Holdings

From the proceeds, bought some Hartalega at RM5.84 during a falling knife – the counter lost 38sen to close at RM5.75. Don't know what's going on, probably a big player was moving. Too bad I lack dry powder. Would love to buy more at even lower price.

Note: later check suggested apparently traders were nervous with the strengthening ringgit, as Hartalega sales are denominated in ringgit. Don't care. Will find capitla and buy more.

Sapura Energy

Exercised some of rights issue doled out by Sapura Energy.


Will dispose more cash to take advantage of a rather weak market. Mind that there are already signs of strengthening.
